At Dental Direct, part of our transparency is making sure that there are no surprises when it comes to what’s going on in your mouth. That’s why we recommend a comprehensive exam with x-rays.
X-rays allow us to evaluate between the teeth (checking for cavities) and check the bone levels around your teeth (checking for the health of your gums). Sometimes we might require more advanced imaging (panorex or CBCT) so we can have an even more in-depth look at your mouth. This allows us to see the full picture and give you the best personalized treatment plan and options.
CBCT (which stands for Cone Beam Computed Tomography) and Panorex x-rays allow us greater visualization of what’s going on in your whole mouth. Especially for implants and wisdom teeth extractions, this is critical to evaluate the amount and type of bone that you have and the proximity to other important structures (nerves and sinuses). A CBCT scan is highly accurate and provides a three-dimensional picture of your head and neck, allowing us to accurately plan and place your dental implants.
